Writing this page - to convey something I believe in with all my heart - is a tricky thing indeed. I want to get it "just right" and it has taken a long time for me to write this. But then I remembered the above quote from Marianne Williamson, and whilst it might seem an unusual thing to start with, Marianne expresses brilliantly WHO The Academy is for and WHAT the core philosophy is behind it.

If I asked you to score yourself on a scale of 0-10 on investing in yourself, how would you score? I’m not talking about getting your hair cut or getting your nails done. I’m talking about the “inner” stuff that gives you clarity on your career direction, builds your confidence, makes you feel that you're becoming more assertive, less stressed, more able to manage the ups and downs of 21st century life, less overwhelmed…
I’m guessing that investing in your own development might get pushed down your list of priorities, right?!
What you put your focus on tends to grow. If you put a little time and focus on YOU, your success and your ability to cope with a busy life would grow dramatically. But most women avoid investing in their own development because “now is not quite the right time”. I’ve heard it so often – there’s something going on in your life that you need to finish. THEN you’ll get round to doing your CV, attending that networking meeting, taking that course, making time for your daily yoga, your 10 minutes meditation, your twice-weekly run… and all the other things you know will make a difference. As soon as you get past "this next thing".
Ultimately, that time never comes. You need something SIMPLE to get the momentum rolling so that you become more likely to say “Yes I can” rather than “I’ll get round to that tomorrow”. Perhaps you’ve been thinking of hiring a
Coach. If you find a good Coach who understands how much you’ve got on your plate and how to get you out of your own way, you’ll get best bang for your buck, because a good Coach will get you to access your own brilliance - fast, rather than telling you what to do. The Academy, was established in 2013 and was originally known as "FaB Club". FaB is an acronym for Fulfilment and Balance. And when it comes down to it, most of us are desperately seeking fulfilment and balance.
I love the Oxford English Dictionary's description of fulfilment
Fulfilment = Satisfaction or happiness as a result of fully developing one’s potential:
For me, "balance" is this: We don't want our lives to be consumed by one thing to the detriment of others. Balance is about enjoying all aspects of our life, without having too much of a good thing!
I originally created FaB Club to help women with children to develop their potential, feel happy and achieve a sense of balance in their lives. The name has changed and we're now open to all women (you don't need to be a mum). However, the objective of The Academy remains the same:

You will get an invitation to 9 LIVE (and recorded) Coaching Calls in the Academy each year.
This means that you can get "on the spot" career and life coaching, accountability and support. All coaching calls are scheduled either during lunch hour UK time (12, 12.30 or 1) with at least 2 calls during the year in the evening UK time (generally 8.30 pm). You will have the opportunity to submit a question in advance if you can’t make it live. All calls are recorded and available for you to download within the Academy Library within 24 hours.

Flexibility and scaleability to fit in with your busy life is central to the Academy.
You get access to ALL the learning and support in The Academy as soon as you join . The live calls and masterclasses are scheduled over 3 “semesters”: January to March, May to July and September to November.
We don’t schedule live calls in the main school holiday months, April, August and December, because we all have enough to juggle in those months. However, our mastermind forum (and me within that forum!) is open all year round, as is your personal Academy Library. You can choose to come to the live coaching calls and masterclasses if it fits in with your schedule. Or you can choose to catch the recording.
Some members use our private mastermind on Facebook extensively. Others may only dip in and out sporadically. A few don’t use the mastermind. There are no rules or expectations or exams to pass in the Academy! However, you will be challenged and held accountable if that’s what you need! And let’s face it, accountability is important!

Yes! Just one thing! You must agree to our community rules. This is basic common sense and means kindness and courteousness to your fellow Academy members within our private Facebook group. You can choose whether you take advantage of the Facebook group or not - there is no obligation to take part. However, if you do so, we expect our members to show up with integrity and self-responsibility. If that doesn’t sound like you, this isn’t the right fit for you. We reserve the right to revoke access if any member does not abide by these rules. However, I’m certain that’s NOT you, as you wouldn’t be reading this in the first place! 🙂
Yes, we are a mixed group of women with self-employed professionals, freelancers, academics, engineers, project managers, HR managers, lawyers, NHS managers… and a few Coaches of course!
I get that! In fact, I used the phrase “I feel like I’m on the spin cycle of a washing machine” quite recently myself! First of all, you do NOT have to watch all the webinar or listen to all the MP3s. You do NOT have to attend all of the calls live (in fact 80% of our members never attend the live calls, preferring to download the recoding afterwards) You do not have to start or complete FaB Online. You do not have to participate in the Academy mastermind every day – or even at all. There are no certificates or prizes and certainly no obligation or expectations.
I have decided to consolidate and simplify my own way of doing business. That means that, as an Academy member, you’re going to get access to the programmes that would normally be “outside” of the membership.
I know what it’s like to get overwhelmed. The library in the Academy is there when you need it. Pick and chose. Got a problem with a difficult boss or peer at work? There’s a masterclass on that. Want to declutter your home? There’s a masterclass on that? Need to really work on your self-belief? There are coaching calls for that! Keen to identify your core needs? There’s another coaching call for that. You get the picture!
I absolutely believe that you should invest in yourself first. Otherwise, you’re going to carry on getting the same old. And investing in yourself doesn’t mean you have to take huge, dramatic leaps. Nope! We have members in the Middle East and Australia. The Academy is designed so that you can access everything in your own time, which is what most members do. You can still get support from me and the other FaBulous Academy members. If you can attend the live coaching calls and masterclasses, it won't cost you anything as you can join via your computer. I will also provide you with LOTS of local country numbers and toll free numbers from your country if you want to join via your phone.
