As a Professional Mentor Coach, I support new and up and coming coaches in 2 ways.
The first is as a Mentor Coach to help you grow your coaching practice. The second is to help you grow your confidence in your coaching skills: I work with coaches seeking to fulfil the mentor coaching requirements for ICF accreditation at ACC or PCC Level.
My mentor coaching programme is for coaches working on practice development, personal development and professional development.
I know from my own experience of setting up in practice how bewildering it can be when you set up your coaching practice. You sometimes wonder whether you’re too late to the party and how on earth you will find the time to do all the marketing you’re “supposed” to do!
The second problem for most new coaches is that they doubt themselves. They doubt their coaching skills; they doubt their ability to build a viable coaching practice. They often have a constant background tape recorder in their head feeding them a version of “You are not good enough”.
Sadly, the majority of coaches who set out with such high hopes give up on their coaching dream, disillusioned and crushed. However, for those who get the right guidance, the rewards are great!
I am one of very few coaches who can provide a unique combination of business coaching, teaching AND mentor coaching. Mentor coaching is not the sole focus of my coaching practice, so you can rest assured that I’m not in the business of selling coach training. I mentor coach a couple of coaching clients at any one time because I enjoy seeing coaches with real potential make their coaching dream into a reality.
If you’re a Coach and you’ve had any experience looking for business coaches, “instant success business programmes” or “marketing experts”, you may have asked yourself one question:
“This person’s business is basically selling to coaches. But have they actually built a long-term coaching practice themselves before they started selling just to coaches?”
I can promise you that my approach is refreshingly different, hype-free, realistic and effective. I’m a real Coach with masses of experience of building my own practice, not a silver-tongued marketer who has recognised that “there’s money to be earned from coaches”!
I teach my mentor coaching clients, step by step; the “how to” of building a sustainable coaching business that they will love.
If you haven’t done so already, you can click here to read my story about my journey from IT Project Management to coaching.
My mentor coaching clients get something very special: Access to my priceless library of hundreds of process maps, tools, forms, articles, contacts and resources.
I share with you all of the best resources that I use right now and that I keep refining over 13 years of running my coaching business. This means you won’t need to waste your precious time, spend thousands of pounds/euros/dollars researching the best tools and creating forms and exercises. I’ve done the testing and proving for you. I’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to!
For purposes of credentialing, mentor coaching means an applicant being coached on their coaching skills rather than coaching on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of an applicant’s coaching skill.
I mentor coach to ICF standards to help applicants for accreditation to become competent within the ICF core competencies, which are as follows:
The ICF is the biggest and most widely known, most highly respected of the coaching governing bodies. Accreditation is stringently assessed and so, when you achieve it, it means something!
ICF accreditation requirements are quite complex, so please do your due diligence via the ICF website. Here is one example: The ICF requires ACC portfolio applicants to be coached for a minimum of 10 hours over a minimum of 3 months by a qualified Mentor Coach.
The format of each of my mentor coaching calls coaches is:
If you’re interested in the possibility of me helping you to grow your coaching practice, then your next step is to apply for a Chemistry Call.
For me, coaching is such an important and effective engagement that the “chemistry” between coach and coachee has to work. Coaching with me is also an investment of your time, energy and money and I want you to to be more than comfortable about “what” you are investing in – I want you to be excited and raring to make impactful changes in your life, career or business.
For this reason, I never take on a client unless I am sure that I can work with you wholeheartedly.
A Chemistry Call is a phone call or Skype call where we spend about an hour talking about YOU and your dreams and goals. I offer chemistry calls free of charge to people who are seriously interested in having me help them achieve their biggest goals. I want us both to be clear about the outcomes of us working together.
I want you to come off your Chemistry Call feeling enthusiastic and excited about getting started. If you don’t, then either coaching isn’t for you right now, or you haven’t found the right coach! I refer coachees on to a trusted associate or colleague if I feel that we are not a compatible match.
You will come out of the chemistry call with a mini 2-5 point action plan to take you forward.
Please complete the application form below completely and in as much detail as you wish.
I’ll get back to you within one business day to let you know if I think there’s a fit or not and then set up a complimentary 60 minute Chemistry call.
The focus of our time will be YOU, not me. Whilst I can tell you about how we might work together, my qualifications etc. you can read this in detail throughout this website. However, please write down any questions you have in addition and I will answer them during our call.
By the way, as soon as you fill out the application form for a chemistry call, you’ll be sent to a page where I’ll give you the pricing for my personal coaching package.
Thanks for filling out the form. As soon as I get it I’ll let you know if I think we’d be a good fit and I’ll contact you to set up the Chemistry Call.
